U.S. Department of Education Announces Additional Trump-Vance Appointees

The U.S. Department of Education announced today new appointees who will support the Trump Administration’s mission of returning education to the states, reforming higher education, and advancing the President’s historic America First agenda. 

John Huston – Deputy General Counsel 

John Huston joins the Department as a Deputy General Counsel for Postsecondary Education and Competition in the Office of the General Counsel. John served in the first Trump Administration as a senior advisor in the Office of Postsecondary Education at the Department. Previously, John worked at a national law firm practicing antitrust law, in the U.S. House of Representatives as a legislative director and for the House Republican Policy Committee, for a national career education trade association, and on a congressional campaign in Indiana. John holds a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center and a B.S. in Economics and Political Science from Ball State University. 

Diana Díaz-Harrison, M.Ed. – Deputy Assistant Secretary, Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services 

Diana Diaz-Harrison joins the Department from Arizona, where she served as the Lead Founder and Executive Director of Arizona Autism Charter Schools, Inc. (AZACS)—the state’s first and only tuition-free charter network focused on educating students with autism. Under her leadership, AZACS received national recognition for its innovative approach and high-quality programming. In 2022, the network was awarded the Yass Prize for Education Freedom, and in 2024, it was designated a National Title I Distinguished School in recognition of its exceptional performance and service to underserved student populations. In addition to her work at AZACS, Ms. Diaz-Harrison founded the National Accelerator of Autism Charter Schools, a national training and technical assistance initiative designed to support the development of autism-focused charter schools in major metropolitan areas across the United States. She holds a Master of Education degree from Claremont Graduate University. 

Pamela Davidson - Deputy Assistant Secretary for Higher Education, Office of Legislative and Congressional Affairs 

Pamela Davidson joins the Department with extensive experience in education policy and advocacy. Previously, she served as an Associate Vice President for Government Relations and Public Policy with the Association of American Universities where she was responsible for all higher education policies. She also served as a Professional Staff Member for the late U.S. Senator Mike Enzi on the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee and as a Senior Policy Advisor to U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy. 

Before returning to Capitol Hill, she served as a Senior Director of Government Relations for the National Alliance for Public Charters Schools, as Director of Government Affairs for Child Care Aware of America, and as Vice President of Government Relations for the National Council for Adoption. Pamela began her career working in the U.S. House of Representatives, including with the U.S. House Committee on Education and the Workforce. Pamela is a native of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and is a proud graduate of Oklahoma State University where she earned a bachelor of science in Political Science. 

Meg Kilgannon - Director of Strategic Partnerships 

Meg returns to the Department as Director of Strategic Partnerships. She previously served as the Director of the Office of Faith and Opportunity Initiatives in the first Trump Administration. Between Administrations, Meg served as Senior Fellow for Education Studies at Family Research Council, where she launched FRCAction’s School Board Boot Camp program, managed coalition building and outreach, and monitored local, state, and federal education policy. 

A graduate of Washington & Lee University, Meg began her career as an account executive for a public relations firm and served as the director of media relations for a national senior citizens organization and has experience in radio and television production. She is married with four children and is an active member of her parish. 

Dr. Anna Miller - Senior Advisor, Office Special Education & Rehabilitation Services 

Anna Miller joins the Department as a Senior Advisor to the Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services. Anna most recently worked as a Postdoctoral Scholar in the Special Education Department at Vanderbilt University where she worked on projects supporting the development of instructional tools to support K-12 students with and at-risk for learning disabilities. She started her career in education as a special education middle school teacher in Albuquerque, NM. She holds a Ph.D. in Special Education from Vanderbilt University, a M.A. in Special Education from New Mexico Highlands University, and a B.S. in Nutritional Science from the University of British Columbia. 

Ellia Rosado – Digital Director 

Ellia Rosado joins the Department as the Digital Director. Most recently, she worked as a Communications Specialist for the America First Policy Institute, where she supported the America First movement through strategic messaging and design. Ellia has experience in roles across the California State Senate and the California Republican Senate Caucus. She received her bachelor’s degree in communications with an emphasis in public relations and a minor in film from California State University, Fullerton. 

Constantine Stanovich - Deputy Speech Writer 

Constantine Stanovich is a legislative affairs and communications professional. He previously worked as a legislative aide for Florida State Representative Berny Jacques, where he excelled in crafting persuasive messaging and advancing policy priorities. Constantine’s experience also includes interning at the America First Policy Institute, where he contributed to policy research and operational management. Constantine is originally from Chicago, Illinois, and graduated from the University of Tampa with a B.A. in Political Science.
